Fannie Mae's Urban Technology Center (UTC) was the first data center (2005) with Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), designed by Gensler. Citi's new data center in Frankfort is the first to achieve LEED Platinum certification, claiming to use only 30% of the power of a conventional one. Citi also has LEED certified data centers in Singapore and in Georgetown (TX).
