Most Printer Cartridges Still Not Recycled

Workplace social site Cafe Quill has published GreenHab the Office infogrpahic (below). It has many good practices; we're were particularly glad to be reminded of one of the more mundane but still important aspects of Green ICT. And the reminder came with a shocking statistic!

The inforgraphic points out that a land-filled printer cartridge can take up to 1000 years to decompose. The alternative? Recycling 100,000 cartridges can save 9599 kg aluminum, 40 tons of plastic, and 1 million liters of oil.

The shocking statistic is that 60%-80% of used printer cartridges still end up in landfills!
